A non-profit program of Association of Behavior Consultants Inc.
Over the past 20+ years No Barriers has developed mutually beneficial relationships with organizations throughout Northern California. A few of these organizations can be found below, along with descriptions of what we do on a daily basis.
Waste Not, Want Not was started in Sonoma County by Kaarin Lee as a way for farmers and households to donate their extra fruit and vegetables to families in need. As of 2014, No Barriers has taken over this organization in order to continue Kaarin Lee's vision. Our clients work as a group to go out in the community and glean this extra fruit and vegetables so families in need can benefit.
Redwood Empire Food Bank
No Barriers annually logs the most volunteer hours of any organization that volunteers at the Food Bank. There are a variety of jobs for our clients such as: Sorting food, preparing packages, managing trash, and general cleaning.
Spending time with animals is wonderful therapy and can be a very rewarding experience for many of our clients. The humane society is always in need of volunteers to help with cleaning duties and to spend time with animals throw walks or playing in the yard.
Silvercrest Senior Living
Silvercrest is a residence program that provides affordable housing for local seniors. Our clients volunteer in the kitchen Monday-Friday. Some of the tasks include: Cleaning and setting tables, doing dishes, preparing brown bag meals, and serving lunch to residents.
